Corah’s Testimony

I am very grateful to God for all that He has done in my life. He has used every circumstance for His glory. When I was in 3rd year high school I learned about God through Hope for the Island. I was invited by one of my friends who lived at hope for the island with her family. Through her life I realized that there is a God who loves and cares for me. Sometimes I would even sleep at Hope for the Island and experience what family is really like. Ate Jenn and Kuya Derek accepted me and my sister as family. Through their life we learn more about God and His great and wonderful plan for our life.

Through the Van family we truly experience God’s love, grace and healing power in our spiritual lives. Before we became part of the Hope for the Island family and ministry we experienced so much loss, pain and hurts. We were hopeless and alone because of our poverty.  But God is very faithful to do mighty and impossible things. It was really beyond our imagination. He opened our eyes to see and believe who He is and His plan for our lives. Kuya Ben and Ate Grace led me to accepting Christ and really understand Salvation that is by grace through faith. A local pastor baptized me here in the ocean. From that time I continue to serve as staff at Hope. I thank God for his patience with me and using Hope for the Island to bring change and growth to my walk of faith. Through the trials Gods Word sustains me and it is what I have to offer the kids and youth we minister to. It is a blessing to lead others to the Lord as He used people to lead me to Him. The challenges keep me drawing close to God. He never leaves me alone. He is always there to comfort, remind, encourage and even rebuke when my focus gets off Him. God is good and I pray He continues to get all glory and honor through my life and service to Him.
