Our Hope for the Island team recently went to a training seminar in Cebu, a city on another island. It impacted our staff and they share their thoughts.

Praise God for being so faithful to meet us where we are at. At first I was afraid of what was going to be the outcome when this training and exposure trip was planned, but God is just so amazing. The seminar was great! Even though we are not from a city we were treated well and so welcomed. This took away any pressure that caused us concern. I learned so many valuable techniques for sharing the Gospel to kids and equipping them to also go out and share the Good News. I really thank God for this opportunity. I also see how this seminar will be so useful for teaching the young people. I have learned lots of new ideas on how to interactively teach. The new visual aids bring to life the Gospel that has changed our lives. I pray that God will prepare the hearts of the kids in the areas Hope for the Island ministers, for this new style of teaching method and God will continue to use me for His glory.

It was great and wonderful! I’ve learned a lot and experienced new things.Although it was very challenging, I praise God for this great privilege that He gave to us as staff. One of the most vital things God reminded me of was to have intimacy with Him so I can know His heart towards the kids He loves and cares for. Through this training, my eyes are being opened to see how God values the lives of children and how God can use kids for His glory. God wants me to minister to kids with His love, passion, grace and delight. The new techniques learned will help me as I go back to Siargao to teach and disciple in interactive, relational and creative ways.

Praise God for allowing me to see and experience how to share the Gospel in the city. God is just so faithful and His grace is always there to help and to encourage me. Thank God for this exposure trip for us as a staff because even though this is my very first time in Cebu, I had a chance to share Gods love to the kids in Punta Cebu. The kids are so open and easy to approach. I praise God because I was able to use the training and some kids in my group accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior!
