Hope for the Island recently partnered with the Municipality of Del Carmen during their Health Fair. The theme tied in with our Prenatal and feeding programs that focus on helping children get a healthy start in life. It excites us to be a part of programs that minister to those in need!
Our Hope team of Cristina, Cora, Kenneth, Brison and Makana arrived to find a booth specially prepared by the Rural Health Unit for Hope for the Island.
It was an exciting day! We blessed the mothers with the prenatal vitamin packs. Donated dried vegetables and apples from Canada were handed out as well, prioritizing the elderly and children. We also brought with us bags of donated baby clothes and supplies to bless new and expectant mothers.
Makana and Brison were a big help and served well that day! At one point Brison searched hard through the pile of baby clothes because he desperately wanted one little girl to leave with something special. It is great that Derek and Jenn are allowing their kids to get a good taste of ministry at a young age. They have watched and learned well how to obey God’s greatest command to love God and others. We all felt so small and yet so great that day.
We were also provided the platform to share and exhort from God’s Word. It is amazing how God works and touches lives in simple ways when we make ourselves available.
