  • Joan’s Testimony

I  am grateful to God for His hand in my life.  When I was only 7 years old my parents left me with my grandparents.  It is very hard time to accept my parents leaving especially hard because I was treated badly.  The older I got the worse things became.  Then my grandma died.  Even though she is harsh with me I still loved her and missed her when she pass away.  People in the village told me that it is my fault that she died.  I felt so sad and all alone and even the comfort I expected from my aunty and friends wasn’t there because they also say I am to blame.  I really didn’t understand why but it affected me so much.

  • Corah’s Testimony

I am very grateful to God for all that He has done in my life. He has used every circumstance for His glory. When I was in 3rd year high school I learned about God through Hope for the Island. I was invited by one of my friends who lived at hope for the island with her family. Through her life I realized that there is a God who loves and cares for me. Sometimes I would even sleep at Hope for the Island and experience what family is really like. Ate Jenn and Kuya Derek accepted me and my sister as family. Through their life we learn more about God and His great and wonderful plan for our life.

  • God Answers Our Prayers

Jenn & I first met Todd & Ruth through our involvement at YWAM (Youth with a Mission) based in Maui, where they are presently serving as leaders.

When still single, Ruth came to Hope for the Island during the outreach part of her discipleship training school. Her team won over the hearts of the youth and staff!! We knew the relationships formed would be lasting. Even after moving back home to Scotland, Ruth remained a faithful prayer partner and would ship us boxes of donated supplies to bless the ministries. (more…)

  • When It’s All Over

These are testimonies from our Hope for the Island staff about what has been happening in the hearts of the youth since “MAKING JESUS LORD” Youth Camp. It is a joy to hear their heart and watch them blossom as they serve.

It is normal for the young people to be excited and “on fire” during the experience of a youth camp. These youth leaders pray for the youth that attended and visit and spend time with them as a way to nurture all that God stirred in their hearts. (more…)
