Kid’s Ministry Moments

The Testimony of a Child

God is good in the lives of the children in the area I visited in our neighbouring village of Burgos.  They are always eager to learn more.  Sometimes they feel bad if they cannot answer some of the questions during Bible study.  They really have a heart to learn more about Jesus and his Word.  They ask for more Bible verses to memorize.  This has also reflected in positive changes in their life despite not having homes where they are encouraged in their faith.  Some share stories of how they try to follow God’s Word and encourage their parents to do the same.  Most often it is not well received but they continue to shine their little lights! Some kids share of how other kids mock them when they carry their Bible to Kid’s ministry, but they say that they don’t care.  They are learning at a young age to please God not man which is important because so often people are drawn and seek after the praise of man.

Pray: That the kids will follow our guidance spiritually as well as physically.  So many times the kids come and haven’t bathed. Hygiene is a real problem here that leads to so many diseases.  Even some that wash still smell because they don’t have soap. It is also hard for me to teach them with the strong odor.  We gave out soap as prizes and last week it was enjoyable to teach and not try to hold my breath.

Village Children Accept Jesus!

I thank God for the months of June and July because we have many new kids attending.  Some parents encourage their kids to attend while others don’t.  Praise God that on July 7 all the new kids in the village of Allegria accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior!  Since that time they come eager to learn more and God is really working in their lives.  I am now discipling some of the youth there who attended Kid’s ministry before so they can also help assist me.  It is our goal to have youth in each area care for and minister to the kids so that there is more lasting fruit.  I am also thankful for the craft materials that come from Canada that help us creatively teach the kids.

A Faithful Servant

Please pray for me because there are many factors that affect the kids coming to my group.  It also makes me feel bad because sometimes I think it has to do with me but I continue to trust God for the kids’ lives and serve them.

A New Chapter for Jennyrose

My group will get turned over soon to another Hope staff or assistant because soon I will leave to go to Surigao City to study as part of the Hope for the Island Scholarship Program.   I will miss these kids but know that they will continue to be in God’s hands and grow.  They are all very special to me.

A Leader’s Heart

As the leader of Kid’s Ministry I feel the weight of burden and responsibility to do my best to care for the kids.  It is not an easy task to carry but one I trust God with.  I enjoy seeing the kids come to really know Jesus not in a religious way but to know Him as He desires to be known.  The kids have enjoyed learning more lately and especially the new songs from our Hope for Kids training in Cebu City.  Please pray that in all the areas God would protect and lead these kids closer to Him so that when they grow older they will hold and live according to the truths that they received.
