JoyJoy and Lino Update

The day we arrived home we quickly made our way to visit JoyJoy. She was so excited when she heard our motorcycle pull up. She was loudly calling for Makana and Brison to come quickly.

We were all amazed how joy radiated from her face despite the fact that she is now blind and unable to walk.  She praised God that she has no pain even though doctors told her the pain would increase as the tumor grows.   It was incredible to witness the presence of God in JoyJoy as she expressed the increase of love and faith she has in God. Each day she worships, prays and listens to the Word of God.

We were brought to tears to hear her perspective on life that reiterates Paul’s words.  With confidence she said, “Each day I still have on earth is God’s blessing and I’m so happy.” She continued, “Whether I am healed or pass away I have peace knowing I am with God always and it is all for His glory.”

It was humbling for the kids and I to witness this kind of faith first hand. Her parents thanked us for the support provided so far and they continue to wait on God’s direction and provision for a follow up MRI in Cebu. The fee for this MRI and one week of therapy is 15,500 pesos which equals approximately $400.  This is only available once a month and they would like to go Tuesday, Sept 10, 2013.  The MRI will help them understand where things are at with the tumor especially since she has no pain whatsoever even though she is now blind. JoyJoy is unable to stand on her own. Therapy will show her parents know how to help JoyJoy exercise to strengthen her limbs and encourage circulation.

Please pray for this family and all who are ministered to through JoyJoy’s life.

Lino Update

Lino, who was suffering from Schistosomiasis, has recently gone to be with the Lord. His long battle with this disease is finished and he has been welcomed home by the Lord. We know the seeds of the gospel Lino planted around him will also one day bear fruit as it did in His life.
