KIDS – developing children through positive, stable and caring relationships
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these”! Jesus repeatedly revealed His heart for children with the intention that we would with utmost importance love, protect and care for kids. With this vision in mind Hope for the Island continues to creatively expand our programs to serve children in need.
On average 450 children attend our weekly Hope for the Island Kids Ministry.
Three outreaches exist within the village of Burgos and five within the surrounding villages of BayBay, Bitaug, Garcia, Allegria and Sto. Nino. As these precious children come to understand and walk out God’s design for them, their homes and communities are in turn being impacted! As the children grow in age and maturity, many take the initiative by assisting our staff in reaching out to other kids who are also in need. Most of the full time workers at Hope for the Island started out as kids being cared for each week in the community! Weekly activities include: interactive Bible lessons, songs, crafts, games and of course a healthy meal. Bags of Hope gift bags are given out yearly to provide for schooling and health related needs.
